The xx are an English indie pop band, formed in London in 2005.[1] The band's members met while studying at Elliott School, notable for alumni including Hot Chip,Burial and Four Tet.[2] They became a trio when their second guitarist and keyboardist, Baria Qureshi, left the group in late 2009.[3] In September 2010 they won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize.
